  Eligibility: To be an Investigator in Mathematics, Physics, and Theoretical Computer Science, a scientist must be engaged in theoretical research in mathematics, physics or computer science and must have a primary appointment as a faculty member at a U.S., Canadian or U.K. institution with a Ph.D. program and not have previously been a Simons Investigator. To be an Investigator in MMLS, a scientist must be engaged in research related to the program, must have a primary appointment as a faculty member at a United States or Canadian educational institution with a Ph.D. program and not previously have been a Simons Investigator. At the time of appointment, an Investigator should be in the early stages of an academic career (within five years of the start of his/her first faculty position) and, typically, be holding an assistant professorship or equivalent position.

Submitting a notice of intent

Anyone wishing to submit a proposal for one of these programs should click on the appropriate link in the list above. To expedite the process of planning an internal competition, please submit your notice of intent as soon as you know you have an interest in the funding program. You are only required to include the name of the Principal Investigator, any co-PI's, and the subject or title of the proposed project. The deadline for the internal notice of intent is indicated above.
