  The Scholarship Program provides funding to 4-year colleges and universities to award scholarships to individuals pursuing nuclear science, engineering, health physics, and other disciplines that may be beneficial in developing and maintaining a nuclear workforce. Students must be enrolled in an undergraduate bachelor’s degree program offered by an accredited institution of higher education in the United States. Institutions receiving NRC grants must implement procedures to monitor the academic progress of the scholarship students. The NRC will allow students of sophomore status to be considered for support after successfully completing year one of the degree program and adhering to the below criteria (i.e., 3.0 GPA, etc.). Student applicants must meet the following criteria to receive a scholarship: 1. Have at the time of application and maintain a 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) overall and within major at graduation level. 2. Maintain a course load of at least 12 credit hours per semester

Submitting a notice of intent

Anyone wishing to submit a proposal for one of these programs should click on the appropriate link in the list above. To expedite the process of planning an internal competition, please submit your notice of intent as soon as you know you have an interest in the funding program. You are only required to include the name of the Principal Investigator, any co-PI's, and the subject or title of the proposed project. The deadline for the internal notice of intent is indicated above.
