  Nominator(s) familiar with nominee's credentials and accomplishments are responsible for preparing the internal preproposal (if required) and, if selected as the one in a subject area to be submitted on behalf of VT, nominator(s) will be responsible for preparation, in consultation with OVPRI, of the full nomination to be submitted to the sponsor. Main eligibility criteria The nominee must: Have been born in or after 1983*. Hold a doctorate degree (PhD, DPhil, MD, DDS, DVM, etc.). Currently hold a tenured or tenure-track academic faculty position, or equivalent, at an invited institution in the United States. Currently conduct research as a principal investigator in one of the disciplinary categories in Life Sciences, Physical Sciences & Engineering, or Chemical Sciences.

Submitting a notice of intent

Anyone wishing to submit a proposal for one of these programs should click on the appropriate link in the list above. To expedite the process of planning an internal competition, please submit your notice of intent as soon as you know you have an interest in the funding program. You are only required to include the name of the Principal Investigator, any co-PI's, and the subject or title of the proposed project. The deadline for the internal notice of intent is indicated above.
