Candidates must hold a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in chemistry, computer science, Earth system science, economics, mathematics, neuroscience, physics, or a related field.
Candidates must be members of the faculty of a college, university, or other degree-granting institution in the U.S. or Canada.
Candidates must be tenure-track, though untenured, as of September 15 of the nomination year.
Candidate’s faculty position must carry a regular teaching obligation.
The Sloan Research Fellowship Program recognizes and rewards outstanding early-career faculty who have the potential to revolutionize their fields of study.

e Scholars Award is a three-year award in the gross amount of $150,000, which will be paid to the University (the “Recipient”) for the benefit of the Johnson & Johnson Scholar and her research, with the understanding that the Recipient will administer the funds. The Scholars Award will be paid in three (3) installments of U.S. $50,000 per year of the three-year scholarship period, payable in 2022, subject to compliance with the terms and conditions of the program’s Agreement. Winners achievements will also be showcased at a symposium.

The Greenwall Faculty Scholars Program in Bioethics is a career development award to enable junior faculty members to carry out innovative bioethics research. It supports research that goes beyond current work in bioethics to help resolve pressing ethical issues in clinical, biomedical, and public health decision-making, policy, and practice, and creates a community that enhances future bioethics research by Scholars and Alumni/ae.
Each year, the Foundation selects approximately three Greenwall Faculty Scholars to receive 50 percent salary support for three years to enable them to carry out a specific research proposal and develop their research program.
Scholars and Alumni/ae attend twice-yearly meetings, where they present their works in progress, receive feedback and mentoring from the Faculty Scholars Program Committee and other Scholars and Alumni/ae, and have the opportunity to develop collaborations with other researchers. Ongoing involvement of Alumni/ae with the Program provides continued opportunities for professional development and feedback, and engages them in mentoring of junior Scholars.
The Program Committee provides oversight and direction for the Program and is involved not only with selection of the Scholars but also with mentoring and professional development activities.

The CHRB accepts no more than 12 Concept Papers from a single agency, non- profit organization, or institution of higher education per funding cycle. It is the responsibility of the Applicant Institution or Organization to decide which of the 12 or fewer Concept Papers are submitted.
A Principal Investigator applying for funding may submit no more than one Concept Paper per funding cycle.

The goal of the Bridges to the Doctorate Research Training Program is to develop a diverse pool of scientists earning a Ph.D. who have the skills to successfully transition into careers in the biomedical research workforce. This funding opportunity announcement (FOA) provides support to eligible, domestic institutions to develop and implement effective, evidence-informed approaches to biomedical training and mentoring that will keep pace with the rapid evolution of the research enterprise. NIGMS expects that the proposed research training programs will incorporate didactic, research, mentoring, and career development elements to prepare trainees for careers that will have a significant impact on the health-related research needs of the Nation.
This FOA does not allow appointed trainees to lead an independent clinical trial but does allow them to obtain research experience in a clinical trial led by a mentor or co-mentor.

Reaching a New Energy Sciences Workforce (RENEW) aims to build foundations for Office of Science (SC) research and training at institutions historically underrepresented in the SC research portfolio. RENEW leverages SC’s unique national laboratories, user facilities, and other research infrastructures to provide undergraduate and graduate training opportunities (i.e., internships) for students and academic institutions not currently well represented in the U.S. science and technology (S&T) ecosystem. The hands-on experiences gained through the RENEW initiative will open new career avenues for participants, forming a nucleus for a future pool of talented young scientists, engineers, and technicians with the critical skills and expertise needed for the full breadth of SC research activities. Principal Investigators, key personnel, students and postdocs of RENEW awards will be invited to participate in cross-Basic Energy Sciences researcher meetings and/or SC-wide professional development and collaborator events.
The goal of the Basic Energy Sciences (BES) RENEW program is to increase participation of underrepresented groups in BES’s clean energy research portfolio. BES is fully committed to advancing a diverse, equitable, and inclusive research community, which is key to providing the scientific and technical expertise for U.S. scientific leadership. This pilot program is intended to leverage BES’s world-unique national laboratories and user facilities to provide training and research opportunities for students, postdoctoral researchers, and faculty from non-R1 minority serving institutions (MSIs) [1,2], including Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) [3], currently underrepresented in the BES portfolio [4]. Institutions with the R1 Carnegie Classification are excluded from applying. The hands-on experiences gained through research internships at a DOE national laboratory can open new career avenues for the participants, who will gain the critical skills and expertise needed for the full breadth of BES research activities
Proposals for BES-RENEW awards are limited to hypothesis-driven basic and fundamental chemical and materials sciences research that underpins clean energy technologies and low-carbon manufacturing in at least one of two topic areas:
• Basic and Fundamental Science to Enable Clean Energy: Research to provide understanding and scientific foundations for clean energy, including but not limited to direct air capture of carbon dioxide; hydrogen production, storage, and use; solar energy conversion to electricity and fuels; and electrical and thermal energy storage.
• Basic and Fundamental Science to Transform Low-Carbon Manufacturing: Research to understand fundamental chemical and materials processes for low-carbon, circular, clean, and scalable manufacturing, synthesis, and processing; to advance transformational operando characterization and multiscale models and tools related to these areas; and to co-design materials, processes, and products for functionality and use.

Submission Limits
Applicant institutions are limited to no more than one letter of intent, or application. DOE will
consider the latest received submissions that have institutional support to be the institution’s
intended submissions. As described in Section IV, institutional support for Letters of Intent will
be determined based on the required signature of the institutional official on the Letter of Intent
cover page.
• Letters of Intent without institutional support may be subject to follow-up with the lead
institution.
• Letters of Intent in excess of the limited number of submissions may be subject to follow-up
with the lead institution.
• Applications in excess of the limited number of submissions may be declined without review.
Individuals are limited to be lead-PI on one letter of intent or application. The lead-PI on a letter
of intent, or application, may also be listed as a senior or key personnel on separate submissions
without limitation.
Cost Sharing:
Cost sharing for basic and fundamental research is not required pursuant to an exclusion from the
