  IMPORTANT INFORMATION AND REVISION NOTES Two new priority research areas, Understanding the Brain (UtB) and Innovations at the Nexus of Food, Energy, and Water Systems (INFEWS) have been added to the NRT Traineeship Track. For FY2016, there are four priority areas: (1) Data-Enabled Science and Engineering (DESE), (2) Understanding the Brain (UtB), (3) Innovations at the Nexus of Food, Energy, and Water Systems (INFEWS), and (4) any other interdisciplinary research theme of national priority. Priority research areas for the FY2017 competition will be (1) UtB, (2) INFEWS, and (3) any other interdisciplinary research theme of national priority. The organizational limit for proposals submitted to the NRT Innovations in Graduate Education (IGE) Track has been increased to two per organization. A letter of intent is required for both the NRT Traineeship Track and the NRT Innovations in Graduate Education (IGE) Track.

Submitting a notice of intent

Anyone wishing to submit a proposal for one of these programs should click on the appropriate link in the list above. To expedite the process of planning an internal competition, please submit your notice of intent as soon as you know you have an interest in the funding program. You are only required to include the name of the Principal Investigator, any co-PI's, and the subject or title of the proposed project. The deadline for the internal notice of intent is indicated above.
